Who is your style icon? My style icon is Hayley. I don’t think she had a choice really, being my big sister and all. From hand-me-downs to my first grown-up pea coat, Hayley has done her best to keep me lookin’ stylish.
Thank goodness, too! Left to my own devices my go-to footwear in college may have been clogs… with jeans that were just a tad too short. Hayley has worked for years to help me build a wardrobe of versatile and classic pieces and to teach me how to put together a polished outfit on my own. It’s all about building a core of highly versatile staples.
Just like our TOAST post, Steven Alan is a brand Hayley has been following for years now. I have grown to love designs that are simple and classic, which is exactly Steven Alan’s specialty. These are the qualities that we appreciate and seek out in the fashions and products we choose to buy.
Crisp, uncomplicated and well-done design packs a more powerful visual and conceptual punch.
Exhibit A: a sampling of images we’ve pulled from the Steven Alan Spring 2014 Collection. I love the clean lines and subtle patterns of his clothes that create visual interest in their construction rather than frills. His home products are as clean and calming as they are bold and vibrant, while remaining practical first and foremost. This is lifestyle design at its finest.
Cheers Steven, Blair!
