That beautiful white hyacinth you see above? That is from last spring. I’m sad to admit it, but I don’t want to mislead you. You see… spring is just starting to spring here. I wouldn’t venture to say that it has fully sprung, but I’m hopeful that those April Showers will bump things into high gear this month! We’re embracing every spurt of spring we get and (as patiently as we can) awaiting a more firm commitment from this transitional season.
In Maine people are quite good at indoor efforts to embrace and encourage spring in the form of seedlings, bulbs and forced branches of vibrant forsythia and delicate pussy willows. It really does refresh a house and rejuvenate those within, but can present a challenge for people less inclined when it comes to “green thumb” activities. Fortunately, we found a cool thingy for these people. It’s called a Garden Water Ball. It remembers to water the plant when you forget, or are just plain too busy. How helpful!
Regardless of whether you’re working inside or outside there are several garden tools and supplies that we’d rather not work without – especially a good hand salve! The winter is tough on skin as it is, pair that with a chilly spring wind and a bramble patch and lavender salve is just the thing along with, perhaps, a cup of Earl Grey or Mint tea.

Wishing you spring happiness, Hayley
