As you may know, New York Fashion Week has been in full swing in the Big Apple. Thanks to the show finder style.com, you can read reviews of every designer’s show and view the entire collection- or stream the live runway shows as they happen. With just a couple days left, I’ve pulled together some of the ready-to-wear looks that I love so far.
Yesterday was the J.Crew preview and I adore all of the blue hues and fresh silhouettes ahead for next season. I’m especially excited by the reinterpreted silhouettes in the basics of the blue jean, oversized anorak and button down blouses. Rosie Assoulin’s collections caught my attention with the sophisticated feminine silhouettes paired with sculptural straw hats and handbags. She nailed the balance of negative space and sculptural volume. Finally, it was the collection from the Olsen’s brand The Row that left me wanting to skip right over winter. Their raw silk, neutral palette and flowing silhouettes are stunning. While fashion shows can sometimes result in looks that don’t even resemble clothing, they delivered a simply elegant collection that I would love to wear. Overall, these runway shows have got me inspired and thinking my closet could use a little update…
Cheers! Hayley
