It’s inspiring to see high quality make a comeback. The upward trend of thoughtfully designed product, carefully crafted goods, and consciously curated collections is for the good of all- people and planet. Kaufmann Mercantile is a great example of a company that was born out of a desire for the best, in the true sense of the word. As founder Sebastian Kaufmann explains in an interview from last year, the criteria that every product and article must pass include consideration of “environment, ethics [and] aesthetics.” Every item they curate or develop themselves has at its core a value for durability, heritage quality, and beauty.
This is undoubtedly one of my new favorite online shops. The company maintains a blog called Field Notes that explores and educates on craftsmanship, material, and longevity. In fact, before they became an ecommerce presence, the blog existed as an exploration into heritage and heirloom tools and goods. Now they have a range of items for sale from garden to office, kitchen to grooming & beauty, and home to tools & outdoors.
They have hundreds of products beyond my selcetion here of some of my favorite items. I know I’ll be shopping Kaufmann Mercantile when I need a special gift for the next birthday, and the holidays coming up.
Have a wonderful Wednesday! Hayley
