This past summer was full of travel and adventures. One of my favorite outings was a day trip with my mother down to Kennebunk to visit Snug Harbor Farm. It was a gorgeous day and by sheer luck we happened upon a beautiful reception and showcase of Frances Palmer Pottery. You may remember the images of tables laden with gorgeous handmade ceramics and fresh cut flowers. The synchronous bold and delicate detail of her pottery is stunning. It was such a pleasure to meet Frances and see her work on display.
Frances Palmer Pottery is the finest example of thoughtful and truly unique practical art. “Each piece, no matter how large or small, is considered and individual,” she explains on her website. Her beautiful craftsmanship has earned her widespread acclaim- you can find her pottery on Food52’s Provisions (one of our favorites!), and featured in nearly every fine design, home, and even high fashion magazines like Vogue and InStyle.
If there was any doubt that she has a magical touch, in addition to making some of the most beautiful ceramic forms we’ve seen, her gardens are prolific and vibrant. Frances has kindly shared some of her photography of her creations, both ceramic and botanic, for us to share with you.
Enjoy! Hayley
