Who here is eating leftover Thanksgiving turkey sandwiches for lunch today? We certainly are!!
Thanksgiving was especially beautiful this year with all the snow – fingers crossed Mother Nature remembers to gift us with a white Christmas, too! Blair and Mom cooked up a storm and then we piled everything in the car and drove it all over to our grandmother’s house. The fire was crackling, it was a wonderland outside, and everything was delicious. I am so thankful that my boyfriend was able to come down from the mountain and join our family celebration and I am amazingly thankful to have the opportunity to work with Blair on building EKLUND GRIFFIN and sharing the things I love most in life on Sea Salt + Chambray. (Now back to the regularly scheduled program…)
As they say, necessity is the mother of invention and with exactly zero square feet for a side table next to my bed I was in need of an inventive lighting solution in my new room. I spotted these portable work lights while I was picking up paint for the room and they fit the bill, minus the cold silver exterior. To match the overall room decor I grabbed a couple bottles of white and gold spraypaint and set off on a fun DIY. Blair and I dismantled the lights on the front porch and in a few minutes we took them from industrial lamps to beautiful room decor. With a soft white shade and gold accents these clamp lamps blend into the room and are just the illumination I needed!
Word to the wise: you will see that we removed the black plastic guards from the clamp- don’t do this! They’re more difficult to put back on than it’s worth and might scratch off the paint in the process. Simply cover them with masking or painters tape.
Happy Thanksgiving! Hayley
