With the arrival of our good friend, Friday, what a glorious time to exhale after a long week. This weekend we have family visiting from out of town so we’re sticking close to home. Last weekend, however, we enjoyed a little staycation a few hours north to Mount Desert Island, more specifically, Bar Harbor. The weather was beautiful and crisp and on Saturday the sky was a soft array of sherbet hues. The trip coincided with the closing of the one and only restaurant I ever waitressed at right after college, The Burning Tree in Otter Creek. Every year since I have been making the journey north to join in the decorating and dressing up for closing night. You should all go to Otter Creek next summer and eat dinner at The Burning Tree. You won’t regret it! It’s the most amazing food expereince you will ever have.
Beyond the restaurant walls, the quintessential rocky Maine coast offered us vistas of sail boats, turning tides and trees, and many deer sightings (though none caught on film!)
Have a wonderous weekend!! Hayley
