Ahoy! Our names are Hayley (left) and Blair (opposite of left). We grew up sharing a tiny pink bedroom in a small seaside town outside of Portland. Together we romped through our mother’s gardens, took rides on our father’s lobster boat to procure ice cream cones on the islands of Casco Bay, and spent summer days at the beaches in our backyard. Our roots have deeply influenced both of us as we have grown and gone out into the world. Now we’re back and ready to pursue our careers in picturesque Maine. We are multi-passionate women who love design of all kinds, fun and classic fashion, plenty of stripes, making and eating delicious food, adventures, and a beautiful day on the water. Thank you for visiting and welcome to our blog space!
Hayley. As the cool, calm and collected older sister, my greatest influences come from the beauty of my natural surroundings. When you go to my studio and I’m not there I am likely gathering inspiration from biking all over Maine, driving down the rocky coast, or standing hip-high in a river fly fishing. While I received my formal training in graphic and fashion design at the Maryland Institute College of Art, I am happy to be living and working back in my home state as a Product Designer at L.L.Bean. I have designed business identities, textiles and fashion collections, and created an accessory line for EKLUND GRIFFIN (more to come!). When I’m not busy being the best big sister I can be, my favorite projects are developing ideas for products inspired by the sea, jagged cliffs, and stunning vistas of this place I call home.
Blair. I’m happily wandering through life and trying everything that catches my attention. I’ve followed several of my interests to employment and as a result I’ve been an apprentice on an organic farm, a stern[wo]man on my father’s lobster boat, and an au pair- none of which seemingly relate to my degree in Business Management/Entrepreneurship from Simmons College. But that’s okay, because a varied perspective can only benefit my entrepreneurial future with Hayley. My passions for food, nutrition, and fitness inform my daily activities and I’m constantly on the lookout for something as decadently delicious as it is healthy. But, let’s be real, I don’t mind giving up one for the other. I, like my big sister, am an admirer of the Maine land and seascapes. I know there is a meal, or at least a snack, to enhance every view… whether on the summit of a mountain or in the stern of a 35′ Duffy (that’s a boat).
